Atlantic Region Association of Immigrant Serving Agencies (ARAISA) is a member-based umbrella organization providing support to the settlement and integration sector in Atlantic Canada. ARAISA engaged Resonate XM at the beginning of 2023 to coordinate their National Small Centres Conference, which was scheduled to take place May 30 – June 1, 2023.

The Challenge

ARAISA engaged Resonate XM to coordinate the conference as a hybrid event. This meant that in addition to coordinating the in-person conference at the Delta Prince Edward, the team also needed to create an engaging virtual experience that mirrored the in-person experience. Furthermore, it was an imperative that the conference be accessible in both English and French.

The Resonate XM Solution

Resonate XM partnered with Tanya Gallant of Chameleon Productions to successfully deliver a bilingual conference with live interpretation provided by Wordly. The conference featured plenary sessions with keynotes Zarqa Nawaz and Gurdeep Pandhe, presentations from IRCC, and three interactive panels featuring representatives from across the country. Workshops and world cafe-style round table discussions took place across 10 concurrent breakout rooms and two concurrent virtual audience breakout rooms.

The Resonate 'X' Factor'

A conference isn’t *just* a conference when the Resonate XM collective is involved. Our team sought out opportunities to elevate the experience for all attendees, while also making risk mitigation a priority:

  • Attendees of the in-person conference were treated to a bonafide East Coast kitchen party at Peake’s Quay, featuring live music by acclaimed Island fiddle sensation, Richard Wood.
  • All elements of the in-person and virtual conference were executed flawlessly. Positive feedback from attendees highlighted the warm, comfortable atmosphere and the ease of access via the virtual platform
